Aún cuando yo comencé mis andanzas fotográficas con cámaras analógicas y pasaba horas intentando obtener copias con perfecta escala de grises en el cuarto obscuro  (¡ayyyy como extraño el cuarto obscuro!), normalmente no edito las fotos de recién nacido en blanco y negro, a menos que los papás lo pidan expresamente o que piense que alguna foto puede tener un toque especial haciendo ese cambio.  Hace ya mucho tiempo que estoy enamorada del color y tengo fases de colores intensos y fases tenues, pero siempre prefiero el color.

Hasta hace unos días, que editando una sesión, vi una foto que me gritaba  ¡BLANCO Y NEGRO!  ¡DRAMATISMO POR FAVOR!  y eso hice, subí el volumen del contraste y la edité a blanco y negro y quedé enamorada.

Las texturas y la intención de la foto me encantaron  =)

No prometo seguir haciendo estas fotos, la verdad es que todas las demás de la sesión fueron editadas en color, pero les comparto la foto que me hizo recordar mis primeros años en la fotografía.

I first started in film photography many years ago, and I enjoyed working on the dark room very much. And I looooved black and white photograpy. But over the years, I evolved into color, learned to embrace it and now I almost never edit a photo in b/w unless parent's ask or I know that the photo will be enhanced by it.   But a couple of days ago, while I was editing a newborn session, one photo stood up by it's textures and lighting and it screamed B/W, DRAMA PLEASE!!!!

So I followed orders ;) and turned up contrast, turned down color and Voilá!  I was in love with this shot.

I don't think I will be returning to all b/w photos, but let me share with you this special shot I absolutely loved!!!

Hoy que estaba respaldando las fotos de la sesión de ayer que fue una de las sesiones de regalo que ofrecí hace unas semanas, pensé que no he compartido nada de estas sesiones con ustedes todavía. Aún no termino de editar la primera y la última acaba de suceder, pero me parece que seguramente estarán esperando ver algo así que ahora les comparto un par de fotitos.


Lamentablemente la primera ganadora no cumplía con algunos de los requerimientos que puse para ganar la sesión y como era la única que se había anotado, ya no tenía alguien más en esas fechas para hacer la sesión, pero les puedo decir que los otros dos bebés ganadores se portaron maravillosamente en sus respectivas sesiones.


Con estas fotos verán por qué es tan importante realizar las fotos en las primeras semanas de los pequeñines, porque podemos capturar esa fragilidad y paz que sólo los bebés nuevecitos tienen  XD

While I was making a backup of yesterday's session, one of the gift newborn ones I gave, I thought I haven't shown any of the photos with you.  I actually haven't finished any of the edition of this sessions because of all my workload, but I figured that you must want to see a sneak peek at least.  So here it is, a photo of little A girl and S boy, they were wonderful models, and that's why doing the session really soon is so important to be able to capture their fragility and cuteness!

La sesión de hoy ha sido muy especial, primero porque las protagonistas son mis sobris ¡Viva la familia! Pero sobre todo porque ha sido una sesión pospuesta una y otra vez desde navidad, así que ¡¡¡estoy feliz de que por fin la hemos conseguido hacer!!!!

Así que después de tanto esperar y como todavía me tardaré al menos dos semanas en tener lista la galería de fotos editadas, decidí que toca dar un pequeño adelanto a la familia  XD

Today's session has been really special, not only because this two girls are my nieces, but because we've been postponing the session since last christmas, so I was really happy to finally doing it.  So I decided a sneak peek was in order, and here you have big sister and little sister ready to start their photo session!!!!

Fotografía Familiar  *  Unos días de paseo

La última semana tuve la visita de unos grandes amigos de Suiza en México, y aunque fue una semana agotadora con los paseos, sesiones programadas, algo de edición y contestar emails, lo disfruté como enana.  Es muy lindo mostrar a otros los lugares tan lindos que hay en el sitio en el que uno vive, siempre conseguimos aprender más nosotros mismos y estar más agradecidos por lo que tenemos.

Pronto les compartiré lindas fotos de bebés y familias, que en las últimas semanas he estado a tope con sesiones de pequeñines hermosos y próximas mamás guapísimas, pero por lo pronto y para que no me olviden, les dejo una fotito de mis amigos en Xochicalco, zona arqueológica de Morelos que increíblemente yo no conocía y me gustó muchísimo!!!!

Last week, some good friends from Switzerland visited me in Mexico, and it was a wonderful week!  Yet tiring, lots of new places, and "touristing" aside from sessions, some editing and email answering.  But it was worth it and I enjoyed it a lot.  It's very nice to be able to show friends the special places near our own real life, usually I'm the one learning the most and being able to be grateful for what I have and where I am.

Soon I will be sharing with you some more of my usual baby and family photos since I have done many special sessions these last weeks, but today I want to share a photo of my friends in Xochicalco, an archaeological site near where I live that I had never visited before and really loved it!!!

Entre el diseño y lanzamiento de mi nueva web y todas las sesiones que tengo por editar, he tenido tiempo para poco más y al primero que desatiendo siempre es a este pobre blog...  ¡Lo siento lectores!!!!!

Las últimas han sido semanas muy emocionantes, la verdad es que desde enero que hice el curso en San Francisco todo mi trabajo ha ido evolucionando, mis sesiones, mis fotos, el crecimiento en cantidad de sesiones y la nueva web.  Es como si con el cambio de año todas las actividades, aprendizajes y planes de los últimos tres años hubieran tomado cada uno su lugar en este rompecabezas y las cosas van fluyendo con nueva energía.  ¡Y sin dejarme tiempo para nada más!  JA

Así que antes de seguir con el post de hoy, quiero agradecer a cada uno de los amigos y clientes que en el transcurso de los últimos años han confiado en mi y han puesto su granito de arena para que este sueño mío se vaya cumpliendo!!!!!

Y ahora si, vamos a lo que les quiero contar hoy, porque lo anterior salió sin planearlo, así escribo yo, me siento y pongo todo lo que se me ocurre  =)

Quiero dedicar el post de hoy a los niños porque con la nueva imagen tan orientada a bebés, cada vez mas recibo la pregunta de si fotografío también niños más grandes y la respuesta es ¡POR SUPUESTO QUE SI!

Los bebés se han vuelto los protagonistas de mi imagen por varias razones, la primera que me he esforzado mucho por documentarme y aprender a fotografiarlos de una forma que los papás puedan guardar el hermoso recuerdo de la fragilidad y perfección de los primeros días. También porque he aprendido que con esa sesión, empieza una relación con las familias y me siguen llamando para registrar el crecimiento de los pequeños tesoros e incluso a veces se desarrolla una amistad.  

Pero no por eso he dejado de divertirme y emocionarme con las sesiones de niños.  Para mi conseguir las sonrisas y que los peques se la pasen bien en la sesión es una verdadera alegría.

Aquí los dejo entonces con las fotos de un amiguito muy orgulloso en su moto, un poco sacado de onda por la llegada de su nuevo hermanito pero con el que me pasé un rato súper divertido hace unos días.

I'm sorry I've been neglecting my dear old blog, but with all the work, editing, launching the new website and all, I've had no time to spare at all lately...

I've had very exciting weeks since january when I attended that workshop in San Francisco, it's like all the activities and plans I've made in the last 3 years have developed and taken it's place in the puzzle of my business and new energy is flowing smoothly.

So before I write today's post, I want to take a moment to thank each and all of my friends and wonderful clients that have trusted me for the last years and maybe without realizing it, have helped me be able to get my dreams!!!!!

Now let's get to today's post  =)

Lately, with my newborn photos being the main characters of my new image, I've been asked more and more if I may do some kids photos, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY!!!!

Kids have always been a great inspiration and I feel so happy when I'm able to get them to enjoy the session and gift me and ultimately the parents with a big smile to the camera. 

But I've learned that many of the families that then develop a long lasting relationship with me as a photographer and sometimes as a friend, come to me for that first special pregnancy or newborn session. And also, I want to share with all of you how important it is to me all that I've learned and practiced to develop a session where we will be able to get that fragility and perfection babies have when they just were born.

So, here I share with you some photos of a cute little guy that I've photographed many times, really proud of his motorcycle. It was hard to get a smile out of him at first since he's still adjusting to de idea of having a new little brother around, but in the end we had a really fun time!
